Maginn's Irish PubAn Irish pub in the same building as the cinema, built with the Irish Pub Company of Dublin, whose fittings were made in Ireland, shipped over and assembled here. The bar is a hand-built Victorian piece in a Belfast idiom and the place is named for the Maginn and Connelly families. Pints, whiskey, a short food menu, and a crowd that skews local rather than passing through. It is the easiest conversation in Old Town because you do not have to go outside to get to it.

Eighth & RailA bar in a building that has been on this corner since 1878, a block off Main by the old rail line. The food is panini-style sandwiches built on naan, which is an odd thing to find in a bar and is the thing people order. It keeps the latest hours in Old Town Newhall, which in a valley where most of the strip is dark by ten makes it the only real answer to a film that ends at 10:30pm.
