Burritos La PalmaA take-out window in the front of the old banquet hall at 2811 East Olympic, selling the small guisado-filled burritos of Jerez, Zacatecas on flour tortillas pressed to order. The birria de res is the one people come for and a single burrito is about the size of your hand, so nobody orders one. The hall's license means beer and wine to go as well.

Everson Royce BarA bar on East Seventh in the far corner of the Arts District with a large open-air patio and a bocce court behind it. The kitchen does a griddled burger and little else that needs explaining. It is closed Monday and Tuesday, which catches people out.
