Shape The Night
Before
El CholoEl Cholo started in 1923 and has been at this Western Avenue address since 1931, which makes it the oldest Mexican restaurant still trading in Los Angeles. Dark booths, tiled floors, combination plates and a bar that pours a green corn tamale alongside the margarita. The dining area is large and a walk-in on a weeknight is not a problem.

Irv's BurgersA walk-up window on the southeast corner of La Brea and Olympic, in what used to be a roast beef stand. The Hong family brought back the hand-drawn doodles on the paper plates when they took the brand over. This address opened in March 2023 and is the second Irv's, not the 1946 original out on Route 66.
