Before

Irv's Burgers

Long walk · 0.7 mi · 14 min walk; 2 min ride - West Hollywood

Opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers on Route 66 and renamed in 1970 after Irv Genis. The Hong family bought it in 2000, lost the landmark stand to a landlord dispute in 2013, moved, closed in 2018, and reopened here in July 2022. Sonia Hong still works the counter.

After

Rainbow Bar & Grill

short ride recommended · 5 min - Sunset Strip

The Rainbow opened on the Strip in 1972 inside the former Villa Nova, immediately uphill from the Roxy. Red booths, a pizza menu and a heated patio out front where people stand until closing. Lemmy's barstool is still where it was and there is a statue of him by it.
