Before
Far BarSet in a narrow brick passage off First Street in Little Tokyo, in a building that was a chop suey house before the war. The list runs long on whiskey and Japanese beer. A patio sits in the alley itself, and food is served until close. It stays open past midnight every night of the week.

After
Suehiro DTLATwo sisters from Japan opened Suehiro in Little Tokyo in 1972 and ran it on First Street for fifty years until an eviction in 2023 pushed it to Main Street. Same family, same curry, in a bigger space. It serves until 1am on weeknights and 3am on Friday and Saturday.
