Langer's DelicatessenAl Langer opened this counter across from MacArthur Park in 1947 and his son Norm still runs it. The number 19 is pastrami on double-baked rye with coleslaw and Russian dressing. It closes at 4pm, which is the single most important thing to know about it.

Hank's BarHank tapped the first kegs here in 1954 and the bar has sat in the lobby of the Hotel Stillwell on Grand ever since. Red walls and a fish tank, with newspaper clippings on the wall and free popcorn on the bar. Booths in the back are the good seats.
