El MerenderoA Mexican restaurant and panaderia on Garey Avenue that opens at 5:30 in the morning and keeps going until the evening. The bakery case runs along one side and the kitchen turns out menudo, chilaquiles and plates of the standard sort all day. It is counter-forward and fast, and nobody minds how long you sit. DBA 256 Bar & GalleryA long narrow bar on South Main in the Pomona Arts Colony with art on the walls that changes for the twice-monthly gallery hop, over two hundred wines and fifty beers. Bands and DJs play the back end on weekends. It opens at four and runs to two in the morning on Friday and Saturday, which matches what the Glass House does.
