Brain Dead Studios
Cinema · 611 N Fairfax Ave
The 1942 Silent Movie Theatre on Fairfax, leased since 2020 by the clothing label Brain Dead and run as a repertory cinema with a cafe up front.
John Hampton built it to project his own silent film collection and kept it going until 1979. Cinefamily took the lease in 2007 and lost it a decade later, and the building reopened as the Fairfax Cinema before the current tenant arrived.
Programming runs to classics, cult titles and independent film, and a monthly membership covers one free ticket per screening. A cafe and a showroom share the front of the building with the theater.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me

Laura Palmer gets her own story. The film that looked excessive in 1992 now feels central to Twin Peaks.
