Glendale, in Verdugos
Alex Theatre
Cinema · 216 N Brand Blvd
A restored Glendale movie palace that now mixes live performance with occasional large-format film presentations and repertory events.
The Alex opened in 1925 and spent decades as a first-run cinema before closing in 1991 and reopening as a performing-arts venue in 1993.
In 2026 the theater added 70mm projection, bringing major film presentation back into a building that had long since diversified beyond movies.
