North Hollywood, in San Fernando Valley
HAHA Comedy Club
Comedy Club · 4712 Lankershim Blvd
Open since 1988 in a converted Mexican restaurant on Lankershim, built on giving stage time to comics other clubs passed over because of their ethnic background.
The club tells that history itself: owners willing to pass a mic around, and a line of up-and-comers who could not get booked elsewhere. It has run at the same address ever since.
Close to thirty dated shows sit on the homepage at a time, one or two a day, and each is billed under a house or host name rather than a lineup. Power House Comedy, Whacked Out Wednesday and Percy Rustomji and Friends are titles, not casts. Who is actually on comes out on the ticket page.
