Hollywood, in Central L.A.
Hollywood Bowl
Amphitheater · 2301 N Highland Ave
The Hollywood Bowl spreads a concert across a natural canyon, with box seats below and long rows of benches climbing the hillside.
The Bowl's name refers to the shape of Daisy Dell, not its shell. The current shell dates to 2004, the fifth version built around the stage.
The LA Philharmonic Association runs the 17,500-capacity amphitheater. Distance changes the experience: the front holds the performers close, while the upper benches take in the stage and the surrounding hills.
