Theater · 5021 E Anaheim St
Long Beach Playhouse keeps two stages busy with plays and musicals, backed by a community company that dates to 1929.
The Mainstage and Studio have separate programs at the Anaheim Street building. Productions range from familiar titles to newer writing, with visiting collaborators also using the smaller stage.
Volunteers help sustain the company, while a summer youth workshop introduces children to performance. Its New Works Festival gives developing scripts a place on the calendar.
