Santa Monica, in Westside
Morgan-Wixson Theatre
Theater · 2627 Pico Blvd
Morgan-Wixson's volunteer-built theater gives Santa Monica a steady supply of musicals, straight plays and productions for younger audiences.
The company began as the Santa Monica Theater Guild in 1946. After a fire destroyed its earlier home, members helped construct the redwood-and-brick building that opened on Pico Boulevard in 1966.
The season includes separate mainstage and youth productions, with workshops for young performers. The name honors Geoffrey Morgan and longtime member Mel Wixson.
