Odyssey Theatre Ensemble

The Odyssey makes theater in a former gas-tank factory, where three small stages support experimental plays, revivals and dance.

Ron Sossi and a group of actors founded the ensemble in 1969 in a Hollywood storefront church. After another home in West Los Angeles, the company began performing in its present building in 1990.

Brecht and Steven Berkoff have been recurring presences in its history. Collaborations and visiting companies widen the program, and Dance at the Odyssey began in 2017.
