Atwater Village, in Northeast L.A.
Open Fist Theatre Company
Theater · 3269 Casitas Ave
Open Fist's artists run the company as well as make its productions, bringing ensemble work to a small Atwater Village stage.
The company is in residence at the theater complex on Casitas Avenue. Its repertoire includes new writing and revivals, with José Rivera's Marisol among the plays it has returned to the stage.
Martha Demson leads the group, whose members take responsibility across the organization. The company's name joins an open attitude toward people and ideas with a fist's suggestion of determination.
