Royce Hall
Concert Hall · 340 Royce Dr
Royce Hall brings concerts and dance to UCLA's 1,800-seat theater, in a building modeled on a medieval Milanese church.
Built in 1929 as one of the Westwood campus's early structures, the hall takes its name from philosopher Josiah Royce. Its architectural model was Milan's San Ambrogio.
Past performers range from Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald to Frank Zappa and the Philip Glass Ensemble. Dance has an equally established place here, including appearances by Twyla Tharp and Mikhail Baryshnikov.
