Ruskin's LA Café Plays turn ideas into five short productions in a single day, alongside a regular season of longer works.
The nonprofit now operates at 2800 Airport Avenue in Santa Monica, just west of its original location. Its two stages are named the Kaplan and the Audre.
The monthly short-play series allows ten and a half hours from concept to performance. Actors, writers and directors assemble the pieces for an hour-long show.
