University Park, in South L.A.
Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall
Theater · 700 West 32nd Street
The Shrine pairs a vast seated auditorium with an adjoining expo hall, giving University Park two very different ways to see a big show.
The current complex opened in 1926 after fire destroyed the Shriners' earlier building. Its Moorish-inspired architecture surrounds a stage that has hosted the Academy Awards and the Grammys.
The auditorium seats 6,300, while the separate hall allows a more flexible concert setup. Goldenvoice has operated the venue since 2013, booking across the complex and its outdoor grounds.
