Mar Vista, in Westside
The FanaticSalon Theater | Culver City Comedy Club
Comedy Club · 3815 Sawtelle Blvd
A fifty-seat theater on Sawtelle just south of Venice Boulevard, running improv, stand-up and one-person shows, with a large outdoor patio attached.
The programming leans on regulars: a Sunday musical improv show called Opening Night, an Armando-format showcase, and a Thursday open mic. Wayne Brady has turned up in the Sunday show as a surprise cast member.
Fifty seats puts the performers a few feet away, and the patio does the work a lobby would do in a bigger building. The venue bills itself as Culver City although the address is a Los Angeles one, which is the kind of border this part of the Westside is full of.
