The Ford
Amphitheater · 2580 Cahuenga Blvd E
The Ford sits against a Hollywood hillside, with no seat more than 96 feet from its open-air stage.
The site began in 1920 as a setting for Christine Wetherill Stevenson's Pilgrimage Play. After a brush fire, the present concrete theater opened in 1931, its architecture recalling the gates of Jerusalem.
The roughly 1,200-seat amphitheater presents music, dance, film and spoken word under the LA Phil's operation. Local artists share the season with visiting performers, and family programs bring in younger audiences.
