Westwood, in Westside
The Nimoy
Theater · 1262 Westwood Blvd
The Nimoy turns Westwood's former Crest cinema into a small-scale home for live performance, with its painted Hollywood landmarks still in view.
The building opened as the UCLAN in 1940 and became the Crest in 1955. Designer Joseph Musil added Art Deco-inspired details and murals during a late-1980s renovation.
UCLA's adaptation preserved many of those features while making the interior flexible for contemporary work. A gift from Susan Bay Nimoy supported the acquisition, and the theater honors Leonard Nimoy.
