DTLA: Bunker Hill, in Central L.A.

Walt Disney Concert Hall

Concert Hall · 111 S Grand Ave

Official site Directions

Inside Frank Gehry's steel curves, Walt Disney Concert Hall uses wood and carefully modeled acoustics to bring an unamplified orchestra into focus.

The Downtown hall is home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and seats 2,265. Its calendar also includes the Los Angeles Master Chorale, visiting orchestras and artists from outside classical music.

Acousticians Minoru Nagata and Yasuhisa Toyota worked with Gehry on the interior. Douglas fir paneling and the shape of the ceiling are part of how the building distributes sound.
