Shape The Night

Before

Christopher Park and the Stonewall National Monument

Long walk · 0.5 mi · 10 min walk; 2 min ride - West Village

A small triangle of park across from the Stonewall Inn that became the first unit of the National Park System dedicated to LGBTQ history. George Segal's white sculpture of two couples sits inside the railings. A visitor center opened at 51 Christopher Street, the first of its kind in the park system, and costs nothing to enter.

9:35 PM · A Nightmare on Elm Street

After

Kettle of Fish

Long walk · 0.5 mi · 10 min walk; 2 min ride - West Village

A dark bar on Christopher Street with darts and an old Ms. Pac-Man cabinet, plus couches people sit on for hours. It is the Green Bay Packers bar in New York, which on a Sunday in autumn means the place is full of Wisconsin accents by noon. The rest of the week it is quiet and cheap.
