Xi'an Famous FoodsThe Bayard Street store opened in 2017 to take the overflow from the older one down the block. Hand-ripped biang-biang noodles under cumin lamb, and cold liang pi skin noodles for anyone who wants the chili without a hot bowl. You order at the register and then find a seat.

Nancy Whiskey PubA two-floor pub at Lispenard and West Broadway with pressed tin ceilings, a shuffleboard table upstairs and a jukebox the regulars keep feeding. It opens in the morning and does not shut until four. PUNCH calls it a holdout from the days when neighborhood pubs were everywhere down here.
