Pine tarts, currant rolls, cheese straws and black cake go across the counter in a paper bag, and there is a small cafe next door at 1107 if you want to sit with a coffee. Everything is priced in single dollars and the line moves at the speed of the register.

The back garden is the reason to come and it gets enclosed and heated once it turns cold, so it works in January as well as July. Seventy-odd whiskeys on the shelf, craft beer on tap, and bar staff who do not make a performance of either.
