Before
Cafe MadelineA small cafe on Cortelyou Road that opens at seven every morning and stays on until eight at night, which is unusual this far down Flatbush. Espresso and drip come from the counter. Pastries are made on site. Order eggs if you want a plate rather than a cup. Tables fill on weekend mornings and empty out by the middle of the afternoon.
11:00 AM · Ginger Snaps
After
Smiling PizzaA corner slice shop at Seventh Avenue and 8th Street that sells plain, Sicilian and grandma by the slice out of the case. There are a few tables and a counter you eat standing at. It is open past midnight every night of the week, which in Park Slope is rarer than it should be.
