Topos Bookstore CafeSecondhand books and a coffee counter in the same storefront on Woodward, with a second location on Myrtle that added beer and wine in 2023. Open from 8am on weekdays, which makes it one of the few places to sit in Ridgewood before the bars turn on.

Flying Fox TavernClassic horror covers this dark Woodward bar, run by Tracy Bradbury and Chad Johnson, with a kitchen that runs to 11pm. The theme is played straight enough to be funny rather than grim. Brunch on weekends from noon.
