Godwin-Ternbach MuseumThe only comprehensive art collection in Queens, about six thousand objects held on the fourth floor of Klapper Hall at Queens College. It runs from ancient Egyptian and classical material through prints by Dürer and Rembrandt to twentieth-century work, and it mounts changing shows alongside the permanent holdings. Admission is free. It keeps university hours, which means weekdays and the academic calendar.

After
39 Prince CafeA bright Hong Kong-style cafe that took over the old Sunway space and serves congee, sizzling platters and beef chow fun until four in the morning. The menu runs long and cheap in the way those cafes do, with steamed custard buns and hot and sour soup ordered off the same page as dim sum. Families finish dinner at one end while people who just got off work start at the other.
