Wooden chairs, old framed prints on the walls, mugs rather than paper cups if you are staying. It opens at eight and runs to nine at night every day of the week, which is a longer day than anything else on this block.

A dark bar on Christopher Street with darts and an old Ms. Pac-Man cabinet, plus couches people sit on for hours. It is the Green Bay Packers bar in New York, which on a Sunday in autumn means the place is full of Wisconsin accents by noon. The rest of the week it is quiet and cheap.
