Shape The Night

Before

Brooklyn Public Library, Central Library

0.1 mi · 1 min walk - Prospect Heights

The gilded limestone building at the corner of Grand Army Plaza, with the bronze figures across the front and a reading floor that anyone can sit on without a card. There is an exhibition space off the lobby and a café inside. It is open until nine Monday through Thursday, which is unusual for a library and useful for an evening door.

8:00 PM · People First: The Young Lords and the Call for Community Healthcare

After

Tip-Top Bar & Grill

short ride recommended · 4 min - Bedford-Stuyvesant

Walter Alston opened this as a pool hall in the early 1950s and his daughter Linda Greer runs it now. The jukebox plays seventies R&B, the Christmas lights and the birthday banner stay up all year, and a shot with a beer is five dollars. Thursday is snacky hour, when the wings and hot sausages are free.
