Before

Rudy's Bakery & Cafe

0.2 mi · 5 min walk - Ridgewood

The oldest bakery in Queens, on Seneca since 1934, from when this part of Ridgewood spoke German and worked in the breweries. Traditional German cookies and breads are still on the counter alongside newer things, and there is a coffee bar inside now. It opens at 6am.

7:30 PM · The Bedroomer, Kid Lake, Alright Star

After

Flying Fox Tavern

0.4 mi · 9 min walk - Ridgewood

Classic horror covers this dark Woodward bar, run by Tracy Bradbury and Chad Johnson, with a kitchen that runs to 11pm. The theme is played straight enough to be funny rather than grim. Brunch on weekends from noon.
