The Black Cow Coffee CompanyThe village coffee counter, open at six in the morning on Wheeler Avenue and busiest with people walking down to the train. Espresso, drip and pastry, ordered at the counter, with tables inside and a few on the sidewalk. The same owners run a counter in Croton-on-Hudson and one inside Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, and this is the storefront.

Soul Brewing CompanyA brewery on Wheeler Avenue that makes its lagers and ales on the premises and pours them alongside wine and cider. It won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2024 and turns up in Westchester Magazine's yearly list, and neither has made it hard to get a seat. Snacks rather than a kitchen, so eat before you come.
