Shape The Day
Before
McNulty's Tea & Coffee Co.Open on Christopher Street since 1895 and run by the Wong family since 1980. Glass jars and brass scoops sit along the counter, burlap sacks fill the floor, and the blends carry the names of customers who used to come in, including one named for Katharine Hepburn. You buy by the weight rather than by the cup.

Pasticceria RoccoRocco Generoso has been filling cannoli to order at 243 Bleecker since 1974, in the storefront he took over from the previous bakery. There are cafe tables at the back and a full counter of Italian pastry at the front. It stays open until midnight on Friday and Saturday, which is unusual for a bakery.
