Film ForumFour screens on West Houston showing new independent and foreign films alongside a repertory program of revivals and restorations. It is the only autonomous nonprofit cinema in New York and it has run since 1970. The schedule turns over constantly, so there is usually something on that is not playing anywhere else in the city.

Julius'Often called the oldest continuously operating gay bar in New York, and the site of the April 1966 Sip-In that established the right of gay customers to be served in a licensed bar. A griddle behind the bar turns out burgers all night. The floor is sawdust and the walls are covered in photographs nobody has taken down.
