Minetta TavernA tavern on the corner of Minetta Lane that opened in 1937, named for the brook that ran under this block down to the Hudson. Hemingway, Ezra Pound and Dylan Thomas all drank here. Keith McNally took it over in 2008 and reopened it the following year as a French bistro built around dry-aged beef.

Peculier PubA basement-level beer bar on Bleecker that carries several hundred bottles from around the world, with old church pews for seating and initials carved into the tables. It is dark and loud and nobody is dressed for it. The kitchen is limited, so come for the beer list.
