Glass jars and brass scoops sit along the counter, burlap sacks fill the floor, and the blends carry the names of customers who used to come in, including one named for Katharine Hepburn. You buy by the weight rather than by the cup.

Peculier PubA basement-level beer bar on Bleecker that carries several hundred bottles from around the world, with old church pews for seating and initials carved into the tables. It is dark and loud and nobody is dressed for it. The kitchen is limited, so come for the beer list.
