Theater District, in Manhattan
Lyceum Theatre
Broadway house · 149 W 45th St
With 922 seats across an orchestra, mezzanine and balcony, the Lyceum presents Broadway on a comparatively compact scale.
Producer Daniel Frohman built the West 45th Street theater in 1903. The Shubert organization took ownership in 1950 and continues to operate it.
The Beaux-Arts building was designed by Herts and Tallant. Its gray limestone front and Corinthian columns give the entrance more ceremony than the modest footprint suggests.
