Theater District, in Manhattan
Minskoff Theatre
Broadway house · 200 W 45th St
At the Minskoff, the trip to The Lion King includes an elevated lobby view across Broadway.
The theater opened in 1973 inside an office tower, taking its name from the Minskoff real-estate family. Its inaugural production was Irene, starring Debbie Reynolds.
A pedestrian arcade links 44th and 45th Streets below the auditorium. Gold-leaf wall decorations and a terrazzo walkway were part of the refurbishment for the Disney musical, which transferred here in 2006.
