Chelsea, in Manhattan
Asylum NYC
Comedy Venue · 123 E 24th St
A 150-seat comedy theater with a bar attached on East 24th Street, booking named stand-up bills and other live shows, and renting the stage out when it is free.
At that size the venue is small enough that a comic can work the crowd individually and large enough to carry a name who could sell out somewhere bigger. Off-Broadway is how it files itself.
It sits a few blocks east of Madison Square Park, on a block that is otherwise offices and apartments. The bar runs before and through shows, and the theater is available for private rental.
