Concourse, in The Bronx
Bronx Museum of the Arts
Museum Cinema · 1040 Grand Concourse
A free contemporary art museum on the Grand Concourse, with a collection and an exhibition program built around the Bronx and the people who live in it.
Admission is free for everyone and most events are open to all ages, which the museum frames as multi-generational by design rather than as a concession to families.
Both the collection and the exhibition program are contemporary, and both are meant to reflect the borough's communities. The museum calls itself a crossroads where artists, local residents and visitors from further afield meet.
A renovation is underway and expected to open in the coming year, so what is on view and where it sits may change before the work is finished.
