Upper West Side, in Manhattan
New Plaza Cinema
Arthouse Cinema · New Plaza Cinema @Macaulay Honors College, 35 W 67th St
A nonprofit Upper West Side film series keeping independent and repertory programming alive through borrowed and partner venues rather than a permanent cinema.
New Plaza Cinema grew out of the community that lost neighborhood movie screens and now curates films across temporary locations and virtual programs.
The organization is the stable part of the experience, so its venue can move while the curatorial identity remains intact.
