New York Comedy Club - Midtown

Comedy Club · 241 East 24th Street

Official site Directions

The original New York Comedy Club, open on East 24th Street since 1989 and still running fast showcase bills of several comics rather than one headliner.

The look is traditional and unchanged in spirit: brick walls, neon signs, theater lighting pointed at a small stage. What it sells is turnover, a bill that moves through comics quickly enough that a weak set is over before it settles.

The operator added an East Village stage in 2018 and an Upper West Side stage in 2024, and says that makes it the only comedy club in the country with three stages in one city under one name. It has been booking here for more than three decades.
