Midtown West, in Manhattan
Paris Theater
Repertory Cinema · 4 W 58th St
Manhattan's last single-screen theater, a cinema of more than 500 seats just south of Central Park, now run by Netflix.
A recurring series called Big & Loud gathers films made to be seen at scale, which is the clearest statement of what the building is for. One screen means one film at a time and a schedule that reads as a single calendar.
The auditorium was overhauled with new sound and the ability to run large-format prints again after fifteen years without it. Retrospectives and filmmaker conversations sit alongside first-run releases.
