A nonprofit presenter in the West 30s whose whole premise is taking the cost of putting up new work off the artist. Sketch comedy shares the calendar with first-run plays.
The stated mission is to remove economic barriers for artists launching their careers or experimenting inside their form, and to do it somewhere inclusive and accessible. That shapes the programming more than any house style does.
A single stretch of calendar might hold Road House Sketch Comedy, presented as a run of one-night-only shows, and a new play like Very Blue Light, about people caught between emergent technology and the natural world.
