Flushing Meadows, in Queens
Queens Theatre
Theatre · 14 United Nations Avenue South
Queens' park theater brings plays, dance and family performances to the former World's Fair grounds in Flushing Meadows.
The program serves both adult audiences and school groups, with student matinees and accessible performances on the calendar. Its park setting gives the building a different context from a commercial theater block.
New-play development supports writers whose work reflects the borough's changing population. Readings and developing productions sit alongside visiting shows, so the venue also has a role before a play is finished.
