Midtown West, in Manhattan

The Town Hall

Concert Hall · 123 W 43rd St

The Town Hall began with suffragists who wanted a public forum, a civic purpose that still gives its concert stage some weight.

The League for Political Education opened the West 43rd Street building in 1921. Lectures and debate belonged to its founding idea as much as musical performance.

Today the Midtown West hall offers a seated setting for an individual artist or a larger program. The audience gathers around a stage built for people with something to say.
