A used vinyl shop on the Magnolia antique stretch in Burbank, buying and selling records, CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays. The stock leans to classic jazz, sixties rock, punk and new wave, soul, blues, exotica and soundtracks, which is a narrower and more useful set of bins than a general shop. A 1946 counter with twenty-five orange vinyl stools set around one horseshoe, mountain and beach murals on the walls and the original neon out front. John Isaac started the first one in Green Bay in 1913; his son opened this one, and when Green Bay closed in 2020 Burbank became the only branch left. It is the oldest restaurant still trading in the city.

The Burbank branch of the Cuban bakery the Porto family started in their Echo Park house in 1960 after leaving Havana. The potato balls and cheese rolls are the reason for the line, and the line moves, because there are a dozen people behind the counter and a numbered ticket system. Coffee, pastries and sandwiches as well. Cash-cheap and nothing here costs much.

Daily 8am to 2pm and 4pm to 9pm. Closed between two and four.
Red leather booths and tufted vinyl across the street from the Warner Bros lot, in a building that went up as the Red Coach Inn. The restaurant opened in 1946 at Pass and Riverside with forty-six seats and moved here in 1949. The interior has not been redone since.
