Highland Park
El Huarache Azteca
Food

A family-run place on York that has been serving Highland Park for more than twenty years. The huarache is the reason to go, a long oval of fried masa with beans inside, crema and cheese on top and a choice of meat. Jonathan Gold named it in the Los Angeles Times list of essential restaurants in 2008 and it stayed on.

Daily, roughly 8am to 8pm. Listings disagree on the closing time and on whether it shuts on Wednesdays, so call first
