Shape The Night

Before

Portobanco's Restaurant

short ride recommended · 7 min - Pico-Union

One of the few Nicaraguan restaurants in Los Angeles, on Venice Boulevard near Pico-Union. The plate to get is the carne asada nicaragüense with gallo pinto and fried cheese, and there is nacatamal on weekends. The family that runs it says plainly that the point is to keep Nicaraguan cooking going for a generation that grew up here.

8:30 PM · Chris Ryan Williams Vibration Trio + Kalia Vandever

After

Monty Bar

short ride recommended · 4 min - Westlake

Next door to the Teragram on Seventh Street, with dark wood, a short beer list and a DJ most nights. It opens late and closes at 2am. On a weeknight it is mostly people who came out of the venue next door.
