Cafe TropicalA Cuban bakery that has been on this corner of Sunset since 1975, best known for the guava and cheese pastelito and the cubano. It closed in late 2023 and reopened in March 2024 under new owners who kept the menu where it was.

Zankou ChickenThe Iskenderian family opened their first Los Angeles branch here at Sunset and Normandie in 1984, twenty-two years after the original in Beirut. Rotisserie chicken, shawarma and the garlic sauce the place is known for, ordered at a counter in a mini-mall. It runs to midnight every night.
